About the Logo

Nantucket is a beautiful island that is 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In the early 19th century, it was the epicenter of the whaling industry. Now the focus is on tourism including swimming from some of the most fantastic beaches in the world, sailing, boating, fishing, historical sites, and great restaurants. The year round population is about 10,000 inhabitants which swells to about 50,000 during the summer season. Nantucket is an incredible place to sail because of the favorable winds that blow virtually nonstop. The logo shows a mother with windblown hair, cradling her baby in her left arm – which is in the shape of Nantucket Island.
