41st IFMSS Annual Meeting
Travel Awards
Travel Awards Abstract Submission Deadline is Sunday, March 31, 2024.
Travel Awards
Travel Awards (~ €1,000) will be available for young investigators to subsidize registration for the IFMSS meeting in Ireland. The closing date for the Travel Award Abstract applications is Sunday, March 31, 2024. Winners of the travel awards will be announced at the 2024 IFMSS meeting.
Candidates for the Travel Awards need to identify their eligibility for the Awards at the time they submit their abstract. The abstracts will be assessed in a blinded fashion by a panel of senior IFMSS judges.
The number of Foundation and Travel Awards will be determined by the President and the Trustees of the IFMSS Foundation.

One or more awards can be awarded at the discretion of the Judging Committee, for the outstanding presentation(s) presented by a Young Investigator at the Annual Meeting.
Depending on the number of submissions, there may be one or two Scientific Sessions devoted to the presentations competing for these awards. The Judging Committee will be made up of at least four senior members of the Society. Potential candidates for this award need to identify the presentation(s) that they intend to deliver at the meeting for consideration for this award at the time they submit their abstracts.
Although RCTs and Basic Science Presentations receive a higher weighting than a Case Report, it is still possible for an excellent Case Report to score more points than a poorly-presented RCT or a poorly designed and poorly presented Laboratory Study. In addition, since the Travel Awards are based on judging of abstracts, while the Vandenberghe / Barki Award is judged on the actual presentation at the Annual Meeting, it may be possible for a young investigator to win both awards.
