Monday, September 23
We will explore the town of Cork by bus to give you some of its historical highlights. This will be followed by a visit to the oceanside village of Kinsale.
10:00 am: Leave Castlemartyr.
10:30 am: Guided bus tour of Cork City.
11:30 am: Arrive in Kinsale. Everyone will have a couple of hours to wander through the narrow streets of the village, shop in some of the charming local markets, and get a feeling for the town’s unique 1,000-year history. Kinsale is known as a gourmet centre for Ireland. Lunch will be on your own to sample one of the many award-winning restaurants.
2:00 pm: Head to the buses and back to Castlemartyr.
3:30 pm: Céilí (KAY-lee) dance lesson taught by William Hammond (aka “Hammy”). A céilí is a traditional Irish dance that we will host during the evening’s festivities.
5:00 pm: Join us in the ballroom to hear well-known Irish athlete Donal Og Cusak speak about the history of hurling and its influence on Irish culture. Then, everyone will head out to the field for a hurling demonstration.
6:30 pm: Dinner followed by céilí in the ballroom.
Tuesday, September 24
Morning: On your own. Check out our What To Do page with plenty of activities at Castlemartyr such as visiting the spa or their magnificent gardens.

On Wednesday we will be going to Blarney Castle and yes, you will have the opportunity to kiss the famous Blarney Stone!

11:00 am: Private tour of the magnificent Blarney Castle Gardens.

Thursday, September 26
We are still working out the details of how we will spend Thursday morning. Depending on interest, we will host a bread-making class, a tour of local pottery, and/or a guided tour of the Castlemartyr grounds.
