41st IFMSS Annual Meeting

Accompanying Guest Program

Program

We have an exciting program planned for our accompanying guests! In addition to the scheduled program, each morning we will offer yoga classes for people who like to begin their day with a gentle stretch and some meditation. Depending on interest, we also have a local swim coach willing to take those interested to the ocean for an early morning dip. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Elizabeth Gan, Elizabeth.gan@sinaihealth.ca.

Monday, September 23

We will be exploring the town of Cork and are organizing a couple of hop-on/hop-off buses to give you a tour around the city. The tour includes the Cork City Jail, St. Anne’s Church (word famous Shandon Bells), University College Cork, the Crawford Art Gallery, and returns to the City Library which is very close to the main shopping district.

10:00 am: Leave Castlemartyr.

10:30 am: Meet at central drop-off point to begin Cork city tour.

Noon: Lunch will be on your own and we encourage everyone to consider going to the English Market where there are abundance of gorgeous food and gourmet treats to be had.

3:30 pm: Meet at central drop-off point to head back to Castlemartyr.

As part of our evening entertainment we will host a Caeli in the main ballroom (a traditional Irish celebratory dance) and in preparation for the evening dance, we are hiring some dancers to come and give a wee dance lesson so that can all feel confident for the evening’s festivities!

Tuesday, September 24

Morning: On your own. Check out our What To Do page with plenty of activities at Castlemartyr such as visiting the spa or their magnificent gardens.

Afternoon & Evening: We have a full afternoon and evening planned that includes several guided tours in the seaside village of Cobh: an organ recital, a tour of Jameson Distillery, dinner, and enjoying live music at a couple of local pubs in Ballycotton.

Wednesday, September 25

On Wednesday we will be going to Blarney Castle and yes, you will have the opportunity to kiss the famous Blarney Stone!

10:00 am: Leave Castlemartyr.

10:30 am: Meet at central drop-off point to head to Blarney Castle.

11:00 am: Private tour of the magnificent Blarney Castle Gardens.

Afternoon: Lunch on your own and/or with friends. The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend touring the Castle. There is fabulous shopping available close by (think beautiful woolen sweaters!).

3:00 pm: Meet at central drop-off point to head back to Castlemartyr.

Thursday, September 26

We are still working out the details of how we will spend Thursday morning. Depending on interest, we will host a bread-making class, a tour of local pottery, and/or a guided tour of the Castlemartyr grounds.

Check out our What To Do page with plenty of activities at Castlemartyr.
